Messy messy, you can take pictures but the plaza is poorly managed and security employees almost beat you when they see you taking pictures in a public area, it is not good to take children or go to distract you the truth is that it is bad place.

The Monument to the Revolution, better known as "El Chul贸n", is a Salvadoran icon of the most representative. This gigantic work of art stands out on the road that runs along Avenida La Revoluci贸n, located in Colonia San Benito, in the municipality of San Salvador. It was built in 1955, while Colonel 脫scar Osorio served as President of the Republic (1950-1956). Its unveiling was made to commemorate the revolutionary movement of December 14, 1948, when General Salvador Castaneda Castro was defeated and culminated with the Political Constitution of 1950. The work was elaborated by the Mexican Claudio Cevallos and his wife Violeta Bonilla, a Salvadoran and student of the muralist Diego Rivera. "El Chul贸n" is a naked man who represents the people liberated from ties imposed by the government of that time. It is worth noting that this colorful silhouette was composed of stones from different regions of the country. On the other hand, the construction is accompanied by a sculpture with the name "Allegory to the Constitution of 1950" or "Monument to Freedom". In it he glimpses a group of stone carvings that represent a worker and a mother with her son. Also a girl, two other female sculptures, a soldier with his rifle pointing to the ground and another woman who holds the Constitution of 1950. The whole holds a naked woman covered with the flag of El Salvador. Its author was the Costa Rican Francisco Z煤帽iga. In order to access and appreciate the details of both sculptures, you can enter the facilities of the Art Museum of El Salvador (MARTE) and it is free.
