It is very beautiful and the walk to get there is not very long. The waterfall is in the Socorro canton, jurisdiction of San Antonio Masahuat. The relief is very safe and the inhabitants are friendly people. Also in El Socorro there are other waterfalls very close to the main street, which only the locals know about. There are also what the locals call "Mayan drawings" on private property. I was recently there for about three days with a local guide. Angel (pacifier) ask for him and he will guide you with pleasure.

This wonderful destination shows us the power of social networks since before 2020 it was not known at all. However, while we were in confinement for COVID-19, a photo of this waterfall became so viral that it quickly made it to the list of "Places to visit" after the confinement. It is a spectacular waterfall of approximately 70 meters high, icy water and its small pond is not deep at all. It is a waterfall that depends a lot on winter rains, that's why NOTE: If you plan to go in summer you will not see any waterfall. Do not venture alone, go to the San Antonio Masahuat town hall or call them before to schedule your visit and a local guide will be assigned to you, they are very friendly and it is their way of making a living. Stop stingy and help the locals. Have fun in this wonderful destination.
