Closed for restoration. Lamta, the ancient Leptiminus, is located about ten kilometers south of the city of Monastir. Founded by sailors from Phenicia around the 12th century BC, this trading post quickly established itself as one of the most important and prosperous in the Mediterranean, thanks in particular to the trade in olive oil produced by its countryside. The city knew how to keep its rank under the Roman Empire by allying itself in Rome against Carthage and, later, Julius Caesar against his rival Pompey. The modern city was built on the ancient site and thus ceases, at the discretion of the various construction or civil engineering works, to deliver quantities of remains and objects that were grouped together in a museum built in 1992 and which , through a themed circuit, retraces the origins and history of Leptiminus. Through Punic funerary furniture and the major aspects of economic, social, cultural and religious life, as well as the various techniques that prevailed at the time. Beside beautiful mosaic pavements, a Christian sarcophagus and its carved marble lid representing Christ surrounded by characters and symbols is considered the centerpiece of the museum. The museum's garden includes many remains, including, in particular, the remains of imposing spa facilities.

The station (ancient Leptinus) is located about 10 km south of the city of Monastir. It was founded by sailors from Phenicia around the twelfth century BC. Soon this commercial center became one of the most important centers in the Mediterranean and one of the most prosperous thanks to the olive oil trade in particular, and it was produced within its region. The city managed to maintain its rank under the Roman Empire by aligning itself with Rome against Carthage, and then later with Julius Caesar against his opponent Pompeius The modern city was built on the ancient site and it is still according to the occasions (construction or civil engineering works) that provide us with many of the monuments and finds that were collected in a museum held in 1992 in which - during a course focused on specific topics - manifested the beginnings of Ptimenos And its history and the most important aspects of its economic, social, cultural and religious life. Besides wonderful mosaic tiles, we find what is considered the main blink of the museum, which is a Christian sarcophagus, with its sculpted Marmari cover, representing Christ and around him a number of people And a number of symbols. As for the museum garden, it contains several monuments, especially the remains of majestic showers.
