It is recommended to visit this museum before the view of the ruins of the ancient city of Thessdros, which today called Jem, because this space embraces several elements of architecture were within the decoration of luxury homes and public buildings in this city. In particular, we refer to the magnificent mosaic of the Roman antiquity, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. The museum was located at the site of a Roman house, restoring its spatial organization: a central courtyard surrounded by a courtyard that opens to the rooms. There are sculptures (sculptures, mosaic paintings, ceramics, etc.) from the excavations carried out in Thessdros and in the outskirts of the city.  This space has recently been enriched by a new wing that vividly depicts the richness of the industries in the Roman era and their diversity. The museum opens directly to an "archaeological park" that includes the remains of a house called the Peacock House and Solretiana, a lavish residence of guard houses where many of its mosaic tiles were preserved. In the same area, the "Dar Africa" ​​was reconstructed in real size, a grand aristocratic house built about 170 years ago and discovered by chance in the 1990s. This name is named after the presence of two paintings of mosaics painted in the middle - inside an oval shape - the goddess Africa once, and the state of Africa again, and do not know other representations of the African continent.
