It is a small museum located inside the ancient site of Salatcom, a port city located south of Mahdia, and it was very prosperous in ancient times, and it also had commercial relations with other Mediterranean ports, especially Italian. This is seen in the facades of this archaeological museum. The visit begins with the viewing of a mosaic with a poem (translated on a sign) praising the benefits of swimming and the joys of life. Then, inside the hall that follows the foyer, there is another mosaic representing a lion drawn in a clumsy but gigantic manner, as it reaches a height of 3 meters! Most of the exhibits in the tanks of the four halls that make up this museum come from the large cemetery adjacent to it, which provided him with models of carved clay sculptures, and brought other old port facilities or underground Christian diamis prepared in adjacent fields.
