We went to Tunisia many years ago. We booked the camel tour with a local guide, i absolutely recommend the experience.

"I always loved the desert. It sits on a sand dune. We see nothing. We hear nothing. And yet something shines in silence." This quote from the Little Prince, by Saint-Exupéry, applies wonderfully to the Sahara and in particular to the Grand Erg oriental stretching to the south of Tunisia, along the Algerian border. In this vastness of sand shaped by the winds, crushed by light, nature is sovereign. It has distilled majestic dunes, hills and plains as far as the eye can see, date palms and sand roses in profusion.

I just love sahara. You have to go there, see the sunrise, riding with camels and all of the desert. So different. And the host was so wonderful 🤗

I had a great experience visiting Tunisia and the Gate to Sahara nearby Douz. Definitely worth it. Very kind and humorous people, interesting and unique culture and such an amazing country.
