Borj El Ghazi Mustapha, the majestic fortress
Also at Houmt Souk, the fortress that stands majestically at the seaside is the Borj de Ghazi Mustapha. This defensive construction was founded in 1432 by Sultan Hafside "Farès Omar". The remains of the Roman fort that occupied Borj Square were used as building materials.
