We chose this hotel to stay during the quarantine for one week and paid good money, because it was supposed to be all included. The food was delicious and the staff, in general, was nice. Especially the receptionists were very helpful and kind. But there were some problems I want to point out. There was not sufficient drinking water in the room and when I ran out of drinking water on my 3rd day, I had to pay to get more drinking water which I think should be included in the price. The rooms are very clean and nice but there are no kettles to have coffee or tea. In an ordinary stay it could be okay, but during a quarantine, going out for a coffee is not an option. We were told to call the restaurant to get beverages. But every time we called the lady in the restaurant made us feel very stressful, she got angry that we called and she sometimes did not even send us what we asked for. When we called again to ask after hours of waiting, she started to disconnect the telephone! Considering that we were in quarantine and could not leave our rooms, this was very very uncomfortable! One last thing to mention is that while the bathrooms are wide and clean, most of the time it was hard to get hot water to take a shower.

Tto those who have no clue about this hostel I want to advise everyone : extremely poor service. maltreatment . disrespect . lying and mistreatment, especially upon request. you can wait a whole day until you get your request, and especially from this lack of experience. You cannot even speak with them. They have a problem speaking. They cannot speak the main languages. Actually this is not a hostel, this is a disabled club. This handicap itself

I stayed here in quarantine for 7 days as part of the requirement for entering Tunisia during the pandemic. If this was a normal business/vacation stay for a couple days, I'd rate the hotel with 4 or 5*. There is room for improvement though for the quarantined guest experience. First, I payed extra (40 TND) for the hotel to have their driver meet me at the airport (this is roughly 3x the normal taxi price with Bolt from the airport to downtown, but that's not unusual when using a hotel's transport service for convenience). When I arrived, the driver was nowhere to be found and I was left waiting for an hour before he showed up. This was in spite of the hotel having all my flight info and stating the driver would be there holding a sign with my name. Fortunately, I had a local SIM card so I was able to contact the hotel letting them know I was stranded. Secondly, while I paid in advance 187 TND/day for supposedly full board service, I ran out of bottled water on day 4 and requested more. The front desk immediately told me that I would be charged extra for this. This is completely ridiculous to not provide sufficient drinking water for quarantined guests and then charge more (at an inflated price) when you're not in a position to buy it elsewhere. Finally, instead of providing a standard double or queen size bed, in my room there were two singles pushed together. Rather odd this is the chosen configuration as it's not very comfortable. There were certainly positive aspects as well: the hotel seems to have been recently remodeled, a small fridge and room safe are provided, the room was very clean and meals were varied and of decent quality. Service was respectable overall. The location is also very central in downtown. If they address some of the aforementioned concerns, this no doubt would be an excellent hotel.

If you are booking rooms at the Hotel Carlton online. BEWARE! I contacted the hotel via the email on their website and received a prompt response. We negotiated back and forth for several rooms for a two-week trip, and they asked me to wire a deposit, which I did. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we had to cancel our trip, which we did by the date they had said would assure a full refund. And then...nothing. After many, many emails, I was told that they had only received my first email and that they had never negotiated with me nor had they received the wire transfer from me. Regarding my $3400 deposit, they "regretted any inconvenience". Two options--someone in the hotel made a nice profit on the deal, or they got hacked somehow. Either way, they did nothing to assist me. It's a nice hotel. I've stayed there before. But apparently no cybersecurity. BEWARE!

Excellent location, good price and nice staff. The cleaning could be improve. The breakfast was perfect
