mission: In License: The school's mission is to educate Health Sciences graduates in several sections while ensuring that each section has its own professional identity. Key dates : 1924: Creation of the first paramedical school in Tunis. 1950: Creation of 2 paramedical schools in Sousse and Sfax (Professional Schools of Assistance to the Sick). 1956 - 58: Beginning of the specialization in paramedical training (obstetrical nurses, in anesthesia and laboratory preparers). 1966 - 68: Training in Physiotherapy and Manipulators in Radiology. 1970 - 71: Training of dieticians and Nutritionists. 1972: Creation of sections of senior health technicians (Bachelor's degree or equivalent + 3 years) in different specialties. 1976: The training of senior technicians is supported by the Faculties of Medicine. The tutorship is a responsibility of the Ministries of Higher Education and Public Health (required baccalaureate, oriented students). 1990: Creation of the 3 Higher Schools of Sciences and Techniques of Health of Tunis, Monastir and Sfax. Birth of ESSTST: The Higher School of Health Sciences and Techniques of Tunis was created in 1989 by Law 89/103 of December 11, 1989. The school was placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Health. 'Higher Education. The vocation of this school is the training of health professionals during three years of study after the baccalaureate. At the beginning of the 1989 school year, the school, which became an administrative and budgetary autonomous structure, opened its doors to 981 students from different sections, who were divided between the Faculty of Medicine (anesthesia, radiology, biology, hygiene, obstetrics, physiotherapy, speech therapy and medical secretarial) and the School of Nutrition Sciences located at the National Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology (nutrition and food technology).
