We've tried out many different pastry shops ever since moving to Tunisia and what must I say, this one is an absolute delight! The cakes are extremely delicious, have an appropriate balance of sugar and cream. They aren't heavy on the stomach and are really good with a cup of hot tea! We ordered my grandmother's birthday cake from them and it was an absolute delicacy. They sell a variety of different morning snacks for breakfast and I must say that their croissants and raisin bread are simply wonderful to snack on first thing in the morning. The croissant's do not have too much butter or too much sugar, they're dry and easy on the stomach. Along with that, their famous madeleines are light, sweet, and delicious! I would absolutely recommend visiting this pastry shop in the future because you definitely will not regret it.

My review is probably biased because of all the good press I've read about the shop, so my expectations were higher and was finally disappointed. Their viennoiseries have huge room for improvement as still beaten by competition (won't name), their other desserts and pastries are extremely well finished and "designed" but here again not always the best effect on mouth. (If I've haven't read all the press around it, I would probably have scored higher)

For a piece of cake costing 10 or 12 dinars, I'll pass my turn. This shop is more expensive than Paris itself. The owner maybe thought that Jardins de Carthage is "Les Champs Elysées" of Tunis?
