Very good
This place must be magnificent if we could visit the whole and not just 20m2.
No explanations and no sympathetic welcome from the person present.
We do not recommend.
It's worth seeing and feeling history.
The oldest synagogue in Tunisia, it was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century on the site of the previous building of the 6th century but according to the legend on remains dating back to the time of the first destruction of the Temple of Solomon by the Babylonians in the year 586 BC.
Rather simple and modest on the outside, the synagogue is richly decorated inside.
To access it you have to undergo various security checks, this following the many terrorist attacks that have occurred over the years, the last of which on April 11, 2002 by Al-Qaeda, when a truck full of explosives was detonated, killing 21 people.
Very nice place
