An excellent monument, for all those who like eastern orthodox architecture.
Russian Orthodox Church in Bizert.
We visited this city in a rented car on our own, on a trip to Dugga. The temple is not big, its history is known. During the day it is closed, you have to come to the service or somehow contact the abbot.

The Orthodox Church of Alexander Nevsky is a snow-white building in the oriental style, crowned with domes typical for Orthodox churches, which was built in the city of Bizerte. The temple was erected at the initiative of the local Russian-speaking community as a kind of tribute to the memory of the destroyed Russian squadron.
The construction of the temple began in 1936. The church was built according to the project and under the guidance of the military engineer Colonel N.S. Sukharzhevsky. The consecration of the church in the name of Alexander Nevsky took place on September 10, 1938.
After the Russians began to rapidly leave the country in 1956 after the proclamation of Tunisia's independence, the temple was closed. Even his abbot left. The church became operational again only in the 1980s, when residents of the former USSR began to emigrate to Tunisia, as well as with the appearance of Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian wives of local residents.
