It is the ruins of a three-nave basilical planned church dating to the 5th century Byzantine Period located in the Gürkuyu (Nuhrut) Village of Halfeti district center. The church was built of cut stones and has a rectangular plan in the east-west direction. An important part of the building has survived to the present day. It is an important building that requires maintenance and protection. I recommend you go.

One of the lesser known places in Sanliurfa. The transportation is not difficult via Bozova-Halfeti road. But you can reach the village on the rough stabilized road. It was wanted to be protected by surrounding wires, but local people wanted to have more trees, even pistachio trees etc. sewed. In addition, no maintenance is done, a place abandoned to its fate.

It is a church thought to have remained from the Byzantine Period. The majority of the building has survived until today. Transportation is close to the district center. You can easily reach by watching the signs. Although it is closed to protect its surroundings, it is a historical place abandoned to its fate, which has been damaged by wire fences etc.

The half-crumbled church of Nuhrut / Nuhrud, Nuhrut Kilisesi is located in the village of Nuhrut, today's Gürkuyu and is a Byzantine church, which is dated to between 500 and 800 AD.
