The Hacı Fatma and Mehmet Edip Yüksel Mosque, which was started to be built in 2007 in the Yenişehir district and opened in 2010, was built by the former AK Party Mardin Deputy Cüneyt Yüksel family. The mosque, built by Yusuf Kıdır, one of the famous stone masters of Mardin, reflects Artuklu architecture. The 8 semicircles at the altar of the mosque symbolize the 'eight gates of Paradise' inspired by the Sıtti Radiviyye (Hatuniyye Madrasa). The dome 18 meters in diameter with column-rare beauty in Turkey Mardin adds a separate house of condolence at mosques, Koran schools, workplaces, has lodging and mortuary.
