The most famous and imposing 19th-century residence in Buca is that of the David Forbes the younger, of MacAndrews and Forbes, Licorice manufacturers fame. Situated on the top of a hill, the mansion has an impressive appearance and view and is being very slowly restored. Source: Wikipedia

Beautiful buıldıng but terrıbly neglected. Also an ugly roof was added to the entrance. I hope the responsıble will rot ın hell for thıs crime. Why is the buıldıng not used? Would make a nıce office or boutıque hotel.

Located in the garden of Buca Seyfi Demirsoy, this building has a chilling feel as well as its wonderful appearance. Maybe he believes that this place was haunted when we were children, the feelings that remained in my mind when the bravest could go up the stairs merdiven The Forbes Mansion was built in 1908 by the Levantine Forbes Family. Today, one of the richest and deep-rooted families in England, the Forbes family was one of the leading families in Buca who were interested in horse and horse riding. The Levantine Forbes family, the owner of the mansion, also owned large vineyards around the mansion, and it is rumored that the railway line that came to today's Buca station to bring the grapes grown here into the harbor was specially built by them. In addition, it is among the rumors that the mansion was made for the treatment of his daughter, who is alleged to have tuberculosis, and he was treated by sunlight in the section with a glass ceiling at the top. There are also some public allegations about this family in unofficial history. It is said that because the family is a family that England cares about, they were sent from the country without any action. The Whittall family resided in the mansion after the Forbes family left Izmir.
