Within the grand Dergah Complex is the Hazreti Ibrahim Halilullah, the cave where the Prophet Abraham is said to have been born. Local legend says that the prophet's mother gave birth to him here in secret because King Nimrod had been warned in a prophesy that a great leader would soon be born and so set out to kill all of Ur's newborns. Just to the west, across a central courtyard, is the regal facade of the Mevlid-i Halil Mosque. This is an important pilgrimage site for the faithful, and once a year, just before the hajj to Mecca, pilgrims gather here to seek blessings.

Mevlid-i Halil Mosque - Sanliurfa Mevlid-i Halil Mosque is located in the Dergâh Plateau, around Balıklıgöl. Mevlid means "happy birth". Hz. The mosque was named Mevlid-i Halil Mosque because it is believed that Prophet Abraham was born in the cave next to it. According to available sources, the building has gone through five major phases. First, a temple was built in the area during the Seleucid Period. It is mentioned that there was a synagogue in the same area during Judaism. In the first period of Christianity, in AD 150, a church named Christians Church was built in the same area. During the Byzantine Period, Urfa Hagia Sophia was built in this area. Finally; During the Ottoman period, a mosque was built in the same area by Muhammed Salih Pasha in 1523. Mevlid-i Halil Mosque, which has a rectangular plan, was converted into a mosque on the wall between the cave and a small minaret was built. In addition, two more minarets were added to the southeast and northwest corner of the mosque. According to its inscriptions, the mosque; It was repaired by Muhammed Mes'ud (1816) and Mahmut, son of Mahmut (1852); Rooms were added to the courtyard of the mosque by Ahmet Bican Pasha of Urfa (1855) and Derviş Musa (1887). The Mevlid-i Halil Mosque was finally restored in 1951 with the support of the public under the presidency of Urfa Mutasavvuf Sheikh Müslüm Hafız. It is accepted by the public that the water that comes out of Mevlid-i Halil Cave is the most healing water after Zamzam.
