One of the many historical sites to showcase the great Roman Empire and Greek influences. Takes you back in time to the days of the past. Scenic views at the top where the temple once stood majestically to honour the Roman Emperor and in Greek mythology, to honour the Gods. Keep an open mind to visualize the architecture and engineering wonders of the period in time. Awesome!

A majestic and breath taking view. The remaining ruin still give a glimpse of its original beauty. Standing at the top you can feel the King eye gazing on his kingdom

Stunning, the theatre is a dramatic view. Unfortunately the site is not in great condition and snakes lurk around the lower part of the ruins. See more at Pergamon Museum in Berlin :-)

I believe Pergamon acropolis to be a bit overrated. Being an acropolis, you get wonderful views of the valley, mountain and lake. In its day, it had the second biggest library after Alexandria, a theatre that fits 10000 people and was the centre of culture during the Hellenistic period. But, with such large crowds, it lacks the peace and serenity that we go to ruins for and the signs are disappointingly uninformative with a bunch of architectural jargon few would understand or care for. Still recommended you visit but I prefer Asklepion
