Old mosque in the heart of G.Antep.

GAZİANTEP It was first built as a mosque. It was enlarged and turned into a mosque in 1621 by a philanthropist named Yürükzade Gergerizade Halil Çavuş, and in 1775 it took its present form. It is also known as the Zincirli Mosque. While it was roofed until the 20th century, it was covered with a tile-covered roof in the Republic period. It consists of two sections with a transverse rectangular plan parallel to the qibla. There are domes arranged one after the other on the axis of the mihrab. It attracts attention with its black and white cut stone workmanship. The cone part of the minaret, which was destroyed during the French occupation, was rebuilt. The minaret, which sits on a square base, has a body of twisted stone carving. There are rich muqarnases, stone carved balustrades and inlaid china plate decorations. It is the most elegant of Gaziantep minarets.
