Ayazma Kilisesi

A Church must see in the old part of Ayvalik city.

Even though the name implies that this place is a church, it actually is a shelter for the famous sacred Ayazma water spring. It is an important location for the Orthodox. You can visit the place, have a sip of the water, wash your hands and face, light a wish candle and pray. It has been recently and beautifully restored by a generous grant by a Turkish business man.

Absolutely fantastic. What a relief to have finally one "museum" in Ayvalik. More is needed. This place is full of history.
