I don't know when I will go to Mount Nemrut 17 years ago, but when I read the travel writing I wrote at that time, it is quite obvious that taking photos has become a reason for existence, as opposed to taking a lot of things in human behavior. How can we explain the anxiety of taking selfies while this god statue and Antiochus's Tumulus stood at this height? As we know, King Antiochus was so megaloman that he had his statue built on the top of the mountain and we are going to see these sculptures in such trouble. But what we do is taking pictures of each other and labeling here and there.

It must be seen absolutely. We arrived after a difficult road. We were lucky that there were not many people. The atmosphere is very nice. You feel like you are going to touch the sky. I was really curious how the night sky would be.

Mount Nemrut West Terrace As in the East Terrace, there are statues of giant gods sitting on their throne, as well as the statue of King Antiochus I of Kommagene and handshaking reliefs with the gods. There are also relief steles of the Macedonian kings of the Commagene Kingdom around the terrace. These reliefs made of sandstone were moved to the house in 2003 by temporary restoration on the north terrace because they were affected by the natural conditions. Along with these reliefs is the lion horoscope relief. The moon and stars on the lion relief read the date of July 7, 62 BC. This is the date when King Antiochus I ascended the throne.
