The old building, located around the historical Taşköprü, was built by Abidin Pasha (Abidin Dino's grandfather ...), who was the governor of Adana between 1881-1885 during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamit, and was completed in 1883. This building was one of the tallest buildings of Adana city at that time. Although this building was built as a Military High School (Military Secondary School), it became a 5-year Mekteb-i İdadi (Military High School) in 1885 and then turned into an 8-year İdadi. Adana Mekteb-i İdadisi was converted into a boarding house in 1894-1895, and the kitchen and dining hall were added to the building. It became a Girls High School. The school, which had this function until 1998, was damaged in the 1998 Adana earthquake and was evacuated afterwards. Our school, which continues on Süleyman Demirel Boulevard, has been given the status of "ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL" since the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year and is moving forward with the mission and vision determined.
