Aya Dimitri Kilisesi

It is an old church with a historical Greek Orthodox church.

Aya Dimitri Greek Church, is located in the Kurtuluş district of Istanbul's Şişli district. It is not known yet which year it was built, but in the sources written in the late 16th century, there is a church in this region. There is a marble inscription on the outer wall of the Greek church of Aya Dimitri, and this inscription says that the church had undergone a major repair in 1726. The garden walls of the church were said to have been built in 1720 and other important additions were built in 1751-1754 and 1798. The date of the church's still more used bell tower dates back to 1857. The church bell in question was rebuilt in 1955. In addition, there is a cemetery which was used until 1865 in the garden of the Greek church of Aya Dimitri.
