Fascinating place! It seems to be a rarely visited site comprised of two parts. The first is the Behramşah Complex ruins a little ways from the base of kalehisar mountain while the second part is the small ruins that are on the mountain itself. Information regarding the site is hazy and sometimes contradictory. It seems that the behramşah complex was a Seljuk period complex that included a caravanserei, a significant tomb, and a school, though it seem that it would be either a school (madrasah) OR a caravanserei as there is only one building large enough for this purpose. The mountain has byzantine era ruins on its slope and a Hittite or phrygian altar at the top depending on who you ask. Note that it's fairly hard to get to by car. The road that runs right by it is more of a tractor trail than an actual road.

Its importance in history is great, I am not sure if it is worth a visit. If it's on the road, you can get transportation to look at a historical texture. Not a place to go just to see

As already described in many sources, the Behramşah complex is visible from the remaining ruins. The area is accessible and easily accessible by car in dry weather. We couldn't determine what kind of building it could be either. I agree that the Behramşah complex was a Seljuq complex that must have included a caravanserai, tombs and a school. These ruins could have been either a school (madrasah) or a caravanserai as it is large enough for this purpose. In the immediate vicinity, other structures can be seen from the air and archaeologists will not be unemployed. Unfortunately, there are insufficient signs. An information board would also have been helpful. 08/10/2020 - all photos are georeferenced and described in the travel report part 55.

Very old but poorly maintained and poor roads

The Kalekisar village of Cherkessia is a must-see place. On the outskirts of the mountain, a lovely community of Circassians welcomes visitors.
