The building, the construction of which was completed in 1889, is important because it is the original building that has survived in Amasra. The miner Edhem Ağa (his death 1921), who came to Amasra from Montenegro, is known as the first Muslim capitalist to open a coal mine in Tarlaağzı Village in 1864. After acquiring a considerable fortune, Edhem Ağa, a Muslim investor, built this mansion, whose architecture was built in Istanbul, on the land he bought in Amasra. Edhem Ağa Mansion is located in the Küçük Liman area. This historic mansion is used as a house today. Even the 'Unsent Letters' movie was shot in this historic mansion.
