A wonderful little church that should definitely not be confused with the church of Santa Maria Draperis. Crimean church. I think the name Maria is wrong. It is very interesting from an architectural point of view. A humble Anglican church. it is located in a wooded area, as if to hide itself from society. It is a church that I came across by chance while descending from Beyogl to the beach a year ago and was very happy to discover. I think it should definitely be seen.

a nice quiet place in a green garden architecture as a medium. Although it is a historical building, it is neglected and dirty. It needs urgent care and cleaning.

A Franciscan church: "Santa Maria" Françesko is a fun-loving rich boy. He is caught in a military expedition and lives a prisoner for about a year. After this prisoner life he lived, his whole philosophy of life changes, Frençesko. This fun-loving and rich child is now one of the glories of the monk life, seeking divine justice in poverty. Frencesko begins to call everyone into poverty. Because Jesus is poor and what matters is to live like Jesus. When Frençesko makes this call, the date is in the early 1200s, and he is a young man at the beginning of his 20s at Frençesko. A new cult is born, thus in Christianity. Franciscans in the sense of followers of Frençesko. Franciscans glorify poverty. Because a true Christian must live without any material value. Just like Jesus. And people should be called upon to be free from their sins. They are rovers in this Franciscan. They travel all the time. The Virgin Mary statuette above is at the entrance of the church of a cult with such a past. And this church is a Franciscan church. His name is Santa Maria Draperis. Its history is quite similar to the history of the Franciscan Order. Because it travels quite a lot. The Franciscans had a church called "Santa Maria" in Sirkeci in 1453. Then they move to Galata. The church forms ashes in the fire that swept Galata in 1584. Thereupon, Madam Draperis, who has set his heart on this order, donates land for the reconstruction of the church. It was opened in the 1590s with the addition of the name of Madame Draperis, who donated the new church plot. So the church has now become the Church of Santa Maria Draperis. Fortunately, it is re-lit in a fire in 1660 in this newly built church. And it is done again. When the newly built church is burnt again in the fire in 1678, it is no longer built in this area, that is, around Galata. It is made to Beyoğlu or Pera as it was called. But it also burns in the fire. This time it is made in 1769 where it is today. Beyoğlu burned again in a fire in 1870. Naturally, it is done again. It is the church built after this fire in the current church. In other words, the Church of Santa Maria Draperis has a travel date starting from Sirkeci and stretching from Galata to Beyoğlu. Just like the Franciscan Monks who believe that it is more appropriate to sit in a monastery, to worship in a room for years, to call people by traveling constantly. The inscription at the entrance of the church, built in 1904, is particularly striking. Because I don't know if the name of the Pope, the leader of Christians, is written in the inscription of a mosque, but the name of an Islamic Caliph is written in the entrance inscription of a church. It is also this church. In this inscription, Sultan Abdülhamit II (and the mayor of the time, Rıdvan Pasha) are thanked for their convenience during the construction of the church.
