Within the boundaries of Bismil district, collapse dolines (bowls) are formed as a result of the interactions of geological and lithological structure with groundwater. Especially as a result of this dish stuffed with rainfall and irrigation water lakes are formed. Some of these lakes are also fed from springs on the slopes. the many large and small lakes situated between Bismil-Batman has been formed in this way. Soap lake is one of these lakes. The area is about 14 hectares.
