It is within the borders of Konya province in the Central Anatolia Region. It was declared in 1993. Its face measurement is 86.855 hectares. Beyşehir Lake is the third largest lake after Van and Salt Lake in terms of surface measurement, but it is the largest of our freshwater lakes. The Dedegöl Mountains, with its peaks stretching along the east coast and approaching three thousand meters, give the lake a distinctive beauty when viewed from the west. The lake waters are turquoise blue and make it one of the most beautiful lakes in our country with the islands and the surrounding mountains. Freshwater perch, carp, yellowfish and flowerfish live in the lake. On the islands and shallow shores, pelicans, divers, heron and wild ducks incubate, and various kinds of waterfowl flock to the lake during migrations.
