Side Taksi

Most drivers don't know how to get to your hotel and don't use GPS and many of them don't use the meter which they are supposed. I had to get out of a few taxis which didn't put them on even when I told them that it is a requirement. Just use the local dolmus to get around (shouldn't cost more than 5 lira to anywhere ), taxis only exist here to rip off tourists

The taxi drivers prefer that you negotiate a price and then you find out that this price is about 30 % higher than if you ask them to drive by taxi meter. If you ask them to drive by taxi meter they take a detour and if you tell them they act like they don’t understand you. No wonder they loose customers and people choose to rent cars instead.

Taxi fares are double when you pay with a foreign currency. They don't know any place and also not know about using google maps.

Very cautious and respectful people who come on time and go to their destination on time ...
