Ararat people's history
No longer the Armenian Church
The Surp Kevork Armenian Church was built in its present form in the 19th century. The congregation in Çanakkale, which was very common in the 17th century, became idle over time. This beautiful church, which was used as a museum, etc. over time, is not considered to be used much today. It has a very valuable architectural facade. It's a historical trust, let's claim it.

On both sides of the entrance door with pointed arches and roof eaves are highlighted with moldings, the pointed arch of the entrance door should be wiped in the shape of a crown, round window and rectangular bell window on the triangular roof pediment are emphasized on the facade. There are two pointed arched windows on each side of the entrance door.nnThe Surp Kevork Armenian Church was built in the Fevzipaşa neighborhood in 1669 after the arrival of 83 Armenian families from Iran to Çanakkale. The church, which was demolished in 1691, was rebuilt in 1873 by the order of Sultan Abdulaziz.nnThe structure, which was idle due to the immigration of the Armenian population in Çanakkale, was opened in 1934 as the Çanakkale Archaeological Museum and served as a museum until 1984. It was restored by the Ministry of Culture in 1984 and opened as Namık Kemal Theater Hall.
