Located right above the Keçi Creek, one of the arms of Zığıdere, the Martyrdom was designed as a moon-star figure. On April 25, 1915, the KOSB (King’s Own ScottishBorderers) Battalion was taken to the Sarıtepe sub-coast. Since this is one of the weak points of defense, no resistance was encountered during landing. Later, the 9th Division Commander Halil Sami Bey dispatched the forces he organized between Kirte and Zığdere. In the collisions that took place under heavy fire, both parties had a lot of casualties. On April 26, the region was completely evacuated by the allies. Thus well planned; However, with this well-directed removal, extensive strategic possibilities have been lost. If progress could be achieved, defense forces could be destroyed and the road to Alçıtepe could be opened. During this attack, our soldiers became the target of snipers while passing through Keçi Creek and gave important casualties. The Turkish Offensive, which started on the night of July 5, 1915, served the 3rd and 5th Division in the region. When the day broke, the losses of the Turkish side were very heavy. The distance between the British trenches and the Turkish trenches had gone down to 5 m.
