Excavations have been carried out in the castle since 1989. It was possible to describe the castle thanks to the architecture and other small finds obtained as a result of the excavations.nnAccording to the cuneiform inscription found, the castle was built by Argishti's son Rusa BC. It was built between 645-643.nnSurrounded by two city walls, there is an entrance gate to the south of the castle. Here the city walls were built with andesite stone and limestone in other parts.nnIn the upper part, the hall and the temple have an important place. The rizalit temple with its door facing west has similar characteristics with the others. In the southwestern part, a large number of warehouse buildings with jars in connection with each other were found.nnThe magnificent view of Vangölü and Suphan Mountain is also important as it is a great spot for sunset.

The unique view of the Sipan Mountain, the reflection of the sunset on the Lake Van. I guess this is what it means to live in the heart of history.

When I saw this place, I thought that the Urartian civilization really loved the gods Hilda. This is one of the most beautiful places on the Van Lake coastline and they did not neglect to put a temple here for Hilda. I think both the village of Ayanis and the castle (which is still undergoing excavations and for the time being, see only a few of them) are very beautiful.
