Hisarlık Mosque, which is one of the important works of Seljuk artifacts in Bozkır and its surroundings, is an ecdic heirloom with a high value of art made in 1282. The decorations of the mosque were made by İsmail master of Baghdad. The perfection of wood workmanship and wall frescoes have a special importance in terms of art beauty. All the walls of the mosque are decorated with bent tuba branches, cypress trees, ships, guns, floral motifs gushing from a vase and watercolor paintings. Boiled linseed, honey and root dyes were used in the preparation of the frescoes. The wooden workmanship of the mosque is also excellent. It is seen that the art of the Baroque era, which marked the Turkish art for a certain period, reached its witness. The stump's single minaret rises from a yellow por stone, in a single balcony, and on an octagonal base. The upper open windows are cage, prepared in a star shaped new curve cutting technique. The hatches used as a second floor inside the pulpit areas are always painted with carving and curve cutting technique. The altar is filled with plaster, the edge moldings are combined with the Baroque art inside the mosque. The banner of the work is unknown. THE LAST EXAMPLE OF THE WOOD MOSQUE TRADITION: The Hisarlık (Asarlık) Mosque, which is one of the most beautiful and last examples of the wooden mosque tradition in Anatolia, is thought to have been built by a Damascus master in the cemetery in the 19th century. is one of the most important examples of the tradition of wood mosques in Anatolia. The mosque, kaaba, flower, ship, pistol, rifle, and flask patterns on the interior and exterior walls of the mosque, which draws attention with its ceiling, door wings and window covers, and rich wood carving-engraving and pen painting on the pulpit, mihrab and tribune, reflect the rich folk culture. REPAIR The mosque, which was open for worship until 1985, is known to be completely neglected after the construction of a new mosque, and its ceilings dropped due to precipitation, the motifs on the wall began to fall off, and the flooring of the floors was broken. The repair work of the mosque, which was removed, started in mid-January 2007 and ended completely in late July. Source: Historical Hisarlık (Asarlık) Mosque - Mustafa Balkan (Historical Texts)
