Sushi Lab Akaretler

It's not clear how they have all these great reviews. We were decidedly unimpressed. They use a ton of cucumber and microgreens to stretch every sushi item, so that you can barely taste the fish. Also, the fish did not taste pure and lovely as sushi fish should. That said, this is probably much healthier than other sushi because there are so many more veggies in it, so if that's your thing, you should check this place out.

Average sushi and quite pricey. I only had a salad which was a good portion and some veggie sushi. It was fresh but nothing special. Compared to other sushi places in Istanbul the prices are on the higher side. Service was very friendly.

We ordered chicken and after being told it doesn’t come with any side dishes we wanted some rice with it but it caused problem as they somehow couldn’t serve plain rice in an asian restaurant. Menu was only available online and had no specifications of ingredients or even what fish is in which sushi. Dumplings were cold. Sushi itself was pretty ok, that’s why 2/5.

Roll has very little fish on it, many greens inside. Tartar is okay but the sauce underneath is a bit too strong for the tender, delicate salmon, tobico caviar can also be left out. Chinese dumplings were good, but the salad under them wasn't the freshest. Beer is only served at 0.3 and its priced at around $7, price of the food is very reasonable.
