It is known that the mosque, built on a hill overlooking the plain in the Çekirge district, was built in 1365-1366. There is a madrasah with 18 rooms on the upper floor of the two-storey building. The construction of a mosque and a madrasah adds a monumental feature to the mosque. There are two iwans and 6 rooms downstairs. Under the central dome of the mosque built with the reverse T plan, there is a real prayer place and rooms with an iwan next to them. There is a fountain inside the mosque right under the dome. The mosque, known to be built by a Greek architect; Its walls built with stone, brick and spolia are very thick.

It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Murad I Hüdavendigar. The upper floor of the mosque, which is the most important building of the complex, is the madrasah. Because of this feature is the only example.nThe madrasa, which is essential in the concept of the complex, is located separately from the mosque. In the Murad Hüdavendigar complex, the mosque and the madrasah have two-storey architecture. It has a different architectural appearance than the other Ottoman buildings. Complex, religious and social structures around the mosque is a collection of structures that come together. Complexes have an important place in Bursa.
