Located at the intersection of Yerkapı Avenue and Kaleboyu Street, one of the five gates of Hisar, the mosque was built by Kara Ali, the father of Timurtaş Pasha, one of the commanders of Osman and Orhangazi. The mosque, which has a square plan of 8.00 x 8.00 meters inside, has a last congregation place three meters deep. While the main place of worship was covered with a dome, the dome was destroyed in the 1855 earthquake. In the next repair, the upper part was built with a hipped roof. The mosque, which was in ruins for many years, was repaired in 1967 and covered with a dome. Its walls are built with rubble stones and bricks.
