Early medieval Georgian monastery called Khandzta (ხანძთა). Now only ruins. It needs restoration.

Porta Monastery consists of a church, a holy spring, a chapel and a bell tower. There are many buildings around the monastery that I do not know for what purpose. The layout of the houses around the monastery is important in terms of reflecting the medieval settlement order. The Porta monastery, which is severely damaged both by man and nature, is a medieval structure that is reached by passing through dangerous vehicle roads and paths. Whether it is the signs on the roads or the distances written on the signs, most of them are wrong. The monastery road is a narrow and sloping road that can fit a single vehicle. Despite everything, it is a nice experience to discover this remote monastery. I recommend that they be very careful and take a knowledgeable person with them.

It is one of the historical buildings that sheds light on the past among the natural beauties of the Eastern Black Sea. The monastery in the center of Artvin is within the boundaries of Pırnallı village. The monastery was built in 896-918 by Prince Khaouli. It took its final form in the period of King Gürgen. The ruins that have survived to the present day are worth seeing. However, it is miserable like many historical places in this region. I guess it is excavated by treasure hunters.
