It is in a two-storey building and the holy water is at the bottom. In Byzantine times, the holy water was at a point beyond the walls (which at that time did not exist), at the same time it remained for a long time in the Ottoman times. In 1820, the sanctuary's bed was shifted out of the walls as it was in the Zaragoza area. In 1901, Patriarch Ioakeim failed so that the upper part of the building would continue to belong to his Turkish owner, while in the basement was built an entire church and two rooms on the mezzanine floor.
