Beşikli Baba Türbesi

Beşik (li) Baba is next to the Balak Gazi statue in Harput, at the head of the big prayer square, which was once called Kayabaşı. The mausoleum was built in an unplanned way with stone work. It has a small window. The entrance door is also small in that proportion. The mausoleum has been repaired on its previous shape. It has no architectural feature. In the work of İshak Sunguroğlu, it is claimed that a family was martyred collectively in the place of this tomb. It is accepted that the people lying here were martyred during the conquest of Harput by the Arab armies. Due to the cradle in the tomb, it was called “Beşikli Baba”.
