Munzer University or University of Tunceli formerly was Assembly on 22 May 2008. The first time the name of Tunceli Vocational School 1983-1984 Faculty of Firat University in Elazığ began teaching at the site of the year, gave its first graduates in 1985 in Elazig. It was transferred to Tunceli in the 1987-1988 academic year. Faculty 6, 2 Vocational School, High School 1, 2 and 5 consists of the Institute Research Center. Turkey's first and only Alevism Research and Application Center at this university was founded on July 8, 2009. August 20, 2016 the name was changed to the University Munzer.
