You have to go steps of stairs to be here, its a good example how good the Artuklu's bulid something

Melik Mahmut Karaaslan was built by Melik Mahmut Karaaslan Artuklu at the end of the 13th century and found in foundation records in the 16th century, and a Junior High School was built in 1898 on the land of Muzafferiye Madrasah, which is not standing today. The Rüştiye building was later used as a high school, then a girls 'teachers' school and finally a commercial high school. The building is located behind a monumental door that has become one of the symbols of Mardin with its magnificent stonework.

It was closed when we went, but it is one of the rare places to take photos with the view of Mardin. You can also take pictures yourself there, or you can also get photographers with parrots. After shooting, you can print the photo you like. Photo printing fee is 15 TL.
