Kara Priest Church is a Church in Diyarbakır. It is located in the Northeast Corner of the Inner Castle, on the High Rocks of the Inner Castle overlooking the Tigris, thus it carries the feature of the only church not located in the city wall. Although there is no exact information about the construction date of the church, it is thought to have been built in the 3rd century AD. The Church of Saint George, which is assumed to be a temple belonging to the polytheistic religions, there is a possibility that the Fire Temple was used in the Roman Period. It was used as the Bath of the Palace during the Artukid Period. Today, it has been restored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and has been functionalized as an art gallery.

The church is located in the northeast corner of the inner castle. The church, which is thought to belong to the Roman period due to its architectural style and the material used in the building, was turned into a building bath with the domed section added to the west side during the Artuklular period. In the inventory receipts prepared by the Diyarbakır Archeology Museum Directorate, the building was built in the 3rd century. It is dated with. According to the sources, it is suggested that the original structure was a Roman structure, and that it was later converted into a church. The three-nave basilica planned church joins the city walls in the east direction and overlooks the Tigris valley. The middle nave is covered with an ellipse dome.nIt offers a different perspective to its visitors with its interesting architecture.
