Eskisaray Mosque

Located in the central district of Adıyaman, this mosque is located in Eskisaray District. Eskisaray Mosque was built by İbrahim Pasha in 1148 AH. It has a beautiful appearance in terms of structure and texture. It is a busy mosque because it is in the center of the bazaar.

Eskisaray Mosque is actually the oldest mosque in Adıyaman. In the 90s, a wall of the mosque was tried to be demolished and expanded in order to appeal to more people. However Foundations Directorate of historical value with subsequent insertion into a mosque made of proper and intended to be expanded upon to confiscate that legally not trying to be demolished walls rebuilt mosque was completely destroyed and today only the minaret remains the old building. It is also known as Çınarlı Mosque by local people because of the large plane tree in the mosque.
