It is one of the most famous districts of Istanbul. It is within the borders of Eyüpsultan and Fatih districts. It constitutes one of the city walls of Istanbul. The mihrimah sultan mosque, built by architect Sinan at the request of Sultan Mihrimah, the daughter of Süleyman the Magnificent, is located here.
