Great memories used to pass by this clock tower as a kid

The clock tower, one of the first striking historical monuments in Tokat, was built as one of the 23 clock towers in honor of the 25th anniversary of Abdulhamit Han's ascension to the throne in 1902 by the people of Tokat under the leadership of Tokat Mayor Mütevellioğlu Enver Bey and Governor Bekir Pasha. The clock tower, which was added one more floor in 1915, reached a height of 33 meters. It was very meaningful to have the Kule Saat shop just below it. It is one of the must-see historical spots in Tokat.

One of the clock towers built in many cities during the Ottoman period. Had it been advertised, illuminated and presented better, this historical building would have been more prominent in postcards in Tokat's silhouette.
