The place that I felt very peaceful.nnVery very well kept church. It is free to enter you donate money for the candles. The craftsmanship is insane. You are allowed to take photos.nnSecurity is in place to protect everyone. They have certain days they are open with hours. Check before you go.

The Fener Patriarchate is the seat and residence of a Greek Orthodox Patriarch, 270th in line since the Church of Byzantium City was established by Apostol Andrew in the 1st c. A.D and a certain Stahys was appointed first Bishop of the Church. Its' affairs are managed by a 12-member council of bishops presided by the Patriarch himself. Open for the public is the main attraction of the complex, the Patriarchal Church of St George built in 1599.

Fascinating Church home of the Orthodox Patriarchate. At the moment is not open for visitors just for prayers but they were very welcoming and I went in to light a couple of candles and saw it. On the right side of the Church look for a piece of the column of Christ’s flagellation. Dont miss the throne in the middle and the relics of three bishops on the left.
