Every year we visit Istanbul and without fail we will always pop into the bazaar as it has culture and history literally oozing from every angle it’s simply amazing.nFrom the architecture all the way to the stalls which varies from herbs and spices to clothing it just speaks for itself, it’s just sometimes when we visit you always get spoken to by sellers while your walking which is usually expected in environments like this as everyone is out to make money but sometimes you just want to walk and shop in peace or even engage in conversation with the stall owners but always end up having someone just stick to you like glue and make you just walk away, they should really get together and stop this as on many occasions from personal experience makes me walk away from actually buying something as they will simply just not let you go which is a big loss for the stall owner.nThey should really try and find a resolution for this as I am sure I am not the only one that gets irritated by this.

A maze of shops and Turkish merchants worth a visit. There are plenty of counterfeit brands available (if that is your thing), but there are also many quality local products as well (carpets, towels, ceramics, and handicrafts). It is easy to get lost, so keep your bearings. The shop owners are friendly and prolific sales people! You have to experience at least once when in Istanbul! You will likely share many cups of tea and some Turkish Delight with the locals.

One of my favourite places in the world! I was lucky enough to explore it a few years before covid happened and it’s amazing. It’s one of the oldest markets in the world, filled with wonderful wares, carpets, spices, lamps, food, jewels and much more. The architecture of the place is remarkable. I wandered for hours and ended up buying some porcelain bowls painted with a bright pattern, a wooden chess set and hand made silver earrings set with enamel.

Great find and good stuff you can find. But you must bargain your life there. They will over charge tourist like no tomorrow. Offer 1/3 of what they ask in price . You can get it down to 30% of asking price . Other wise amazing items can be found . Good real leather with fur . Highly recommended

A sparkling shopping experience awaits you as soon as you enter Grand Bazar. From the world famous handmade carpets and kilims of Turkey, some of the most beautiful Turkish silver art, souvenirs and decorations made of copper and bronze and high quality ceramics, onyx, and leathergoods are for sale here. In the jewelers' shops you will find accessories, from antique jewelry to modern pendants.A walk through this Bazaar is a journey amidst enchanting scents of spices, dazzling colours, hypnotizing sounds, beautiful handicrafts, and of course the tempting smell of Turkish coffee. I recommend going early in the day when shopkeepers are more willing to sell and practice your bargaining skills before you are here.
