I passed by him for the past 3 years and I always thought it was Dolmabahçe Palace that it was a church.

First, Priest Krikor Taranağtzi mentions a chapel with two priests in Beşiktaş in 1623. Yeremya Çelebi also testifies that there is a small church in Beşiktaş. The testimony of Jeremiah Çelebi covers the years 1661 and 1681-1684. According to the 18th century historian Sarkis Tıbir Sarraf-Hovhannesyan, the church in Beşiktaş was demolished in 1759.nWe learn from the date that Şemdanizade Fındıklılı Süleyman Efendi wrote in Ottoman, that this collapsed church was made with the donations of Eğinli Yakup Amira. The church was demolished on the grounds that it was extended without permission. The church was rebuilt as wood this time in the early 19th century.nThe church was rebuilt in 1838 in a magnificent masonry style by its architect, Garabed Amira Balyan. It was one of the rare domed works at the time when domed buildings were prohibited. As an architectural masterpiece, it was equipped with an inner dome that was not known from the outside. The dome and wall decorations reflected the western style. The interior walls are decorated with large symmetrical paintings by Hovhannes Umed Beyzad, one of the famous painters of the 19th century.nSarkis Balyan, a specialist of Beşiktaş residents, built the Makruhyan school next to the church in memory of his wife, who died at a young age.nThe church was magnificently renovated in 1987 during the Patriarch Şınorhk period. In the courtyard, there are busts of Garabed and Sarkis Balyan, which were opened by Erol Sarafyan and opened in 1993.nThe last radical restoration of the Church was completed in 2013 and it was reopened for worship by being sanctioned by Patriarch Archbishop Aram Atesyan, the Deputy General of the Patriarch.

It's a very old church. I thought I'd get into it by chance, and I was surprised. How did they build such a historical structure at that time? It is still standing tall. It is impossible not to admire the pictures inside. If you have time, I recommend that you examine every detail in detail.

With its renewed historical structure and interior and exterior decoration, it is a must-see church.
