The school is located at the junction of Kartal Baba Street and Valide İmareti Street and at the right corner of the street. Today, in order to reach the structure used as a constitutional monument, a small courtyard is entered through a door with cut stone jamb opening to Valide İmareti Street.nThere is a Byzantine column cap on the left side of the gate and on the pavement. On the left side of the courtyard, which is shaded by a great plane tree, is a staircase with a railing and steps of cut stone, leading to the shelf in front of the classroom. This section is thought to be covered with a portico.nThe classroom has a square plan and is covered with a deaf dome. The dome is placed on four main walls and flat corner trumps. The hedgehog icicle turns the building into a stove. There is no inscription on the arched door. This classical Mimar Sinan structure, made of two rows of bricks and a row of cut stones, draws light from its pointed and flat arched windows. All the windows facing the street have been closed because they have undergone many renovations.nThe school was built in 991 (1583) at the time of the Valide-i Atik Mosque complex built by Nurbânu Valide Sultan. The school ceased its activities in 1928 and was placed under the orders of the Gendarmerie Division, which guarded Toptaşı Prison. During this period, the old staircase was changed and a new one was built.

It was restored, opposite the entrance gate to the mosque.
