Such a shame this church is almost always closed. From the outside it looks like an absolute gem in the middle of an Istanbul district full of history and a fascinating multicultural atmosphere. The reason it’s usually closed is because of the absence of a Greek community in Kumkapı.

Nice church with interesting paintings inside. Not easy to find and get access. Bang the gate and hope that a sombre lady come and get you in.
