DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Istanbul - Old Town

We had very pleasant and comfortable stay at the Hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly especially at reception Ms Alayna and other gentleman ( very sorry who’s name I can’t remember) even the staff at the breakfast was very polite and helpful. House keeping was excellent and masks, hand sanitizer and sanitizer wipes were available throughout the property. We stayed 3 nights and extended our stay to 6 nights and the hotel staff even gave us a late checkout till 4:00 pm ud83dude01. Definitely would recommend them and love to stay there when I next visit Istanbul.

Just checked in and wish I haven’t!nnBooked short notice and this as the only hotel available. Usually prefer the Swissotel, Conrad or the Hilton Bosphorus.nnRoad to hotel closed Sundays so I had to walk 1km with my suitcases which wasn’t fun in this heat. At the reception I asked the lady and she just said “Road closed Sunday”, no apology or anything.nnI showed her my Hilton honors Gold status and asked for any upgrades as usually is the case. She said you didn’t book through us, you can’t use it. I informed her that it doesn’t matter, I been a Gold member for years and always received a upgrade. I told her that I been staying in Istanbul last few weeks and traveling turkey and that I received upgrades at the Conrad and the Hilton Bosphorus. She just said, sorry not here.nnSo I proceed up the room expecting 5 star room. Well, if this is 5 stars then the Swissotel, Conrad or the Hilton are 7 stars as this place wouldn’t get 3 stars in the States. I also paid for a room with a “city view”, well look at my pictures lol. It seems they give out 5 star ratings out in Istanbul to any hotel.nnRoom has scratches, scuffs and burn marks on the furniture and everything just looks like it has seen better days.nnWell to summarize, if you are staying in Istanbul and really want a 5 star hotel then go somewhere else.nnNever staying here again!

This was my first hotel experience in Turkey during my 3-week, 7-city tour of the country. As a Diamond Member in my home country, the lower end Hilton properties like Hampton Inn, Home2Suites, and Doubletree rarely upgrade me without my first asking. Here in Turkey, I was automatically upgraded at every hotel without ever having to ask. This hotel, however, set a high bar for the rest of my trip. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the water pressure strong, the gym well-equipped, etc. What made the difference was the hotel staff, from reception, to housecleaning, to the restaurant. I can’t say that anyone went out of there way. Instead, it seemed to me that this high level of service is just their norm.nnFor those visiting Istanbul for the first time, this hotel is the second or third closest of the Hilton properties to the major sites like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Don’t let that deter you. I walked to and from those sites to n the blink of an eye. Although there is a tram stop right outside the hotel, I never took it.nnMany thanks to the hotel for helping to get my first visit to Turkey off to a great start!

Great hotel, close to the tram and located in the historical part of the city. If you are thinking about visiting Istanbul do consider this hotel as it was a great experience.

It's easy to do a good job when everything is okay but it's very hard to succeed when times are hard.nThis is particularly the case here... We arrived at this hotel in the middle of a pandemic situation and everything was excepcional.nThe accomodation was lovely and very comfortable. Rooms are small but very comfy.nStaff is way too helpful and very nice. Especially Murat who works in reception and sales. This guy was profesional all the way through. He went the extra mile and beyond to make sure my family and I had everything we need.nI'm a very experienced traveller and a free lancer travel writer for some magazines and I can safely say this was one of the fewest times when I found the perfect customer service. Murat was simply incredible and a VERY important part in our comfort. He showed us kindness and patience, even when things weren't perfect.nWe loved out stay in double tree and we will definitely come back again to this hotel when we are back in Istanbul.nThanks Double Tree and thanks Murat.
